Senate Bill 324 – Low Carbon Fuels

Today, March 4, 2015 the House Floor discussion on SB 324 began promptly at 11:00 a.m.  As I write it is 4:00 p.m. and the bill is still being discussed on the House Floor.

During the discussion it has been pointed out that the DEQ gave incorrect information during the committee hearing – not correcting the information until after 5:00 p.m. that day – long after the bill had already been voted through committee and sent to the House Floor.

It was pointed out that it is very possible that the debacle Oregon has recently had with Governor Kitzhaber and Ms. Cylvia Hayes tainted this legislation – a Clean Fuels bill!

After much discussion it was moved that the bill go back to committee for further discussion. Reasons were stated and committee process was defended.

So they voted to NOT send the bill back to committee – 25 yea; 35 nay;  and then after much more debate they voted NOT to postpone the legislation  – 25 yea and 35 nay.  Does this point out anything to you – perhaps this bill is going to pass right down party lines no matter how long it takes.

This legislation will affect the cost of food, fuel, housing – impacting those among us who live on the financial edge the most!

Interested on seeing what the House voted through today – sending it on ot the Governor’s desk for signature.?  Copy the link below –
